Rep Power: 0 ELD sensor wire broke
So I was getting code P1298 and I ordered a new ELD sensor. When I was pulling the old one out I tried pulling the wiring harness up so I could plug the new one in and one of the wires came out of the wiring harness. I got the new ELD sensor to plug in and the car runs fine, do I need to worry about that third wire that came unplugged from the harness?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: ELD sensor wire broke
It will probably continue to set the code if you don't fix it.
You are supposed to turn the fusebox upside down and remove the cover to access the ELD. You can probably patch the broken wire back together this way.
The grease you will find in the connectors and wiring is for water and corrosion resistance. Leave it alone as much as you can.
