Srscode10-1

Thank you in advance for any help you may have to offer.purchased 02 civic that had been in front collision. Replaced airbags did the paper clip trick to clear code. Light does the two blink deal, but remains on.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

10-1
That's a deployment code and it is permanent, it can't be erased. You have to buy an SRS control unit.

Re: Srscode10-1

Oh ok thank you for that info . Doesn't seem to have any issues with restraints, so control unit should take care of it.

Re: Srscode10-1

After SRS unit replacement, you must initialize the OPDS system.

Then recheck for any new codes. Many SRS units that have deployed airbags or seatbelt pretensioners "LIE" and I find new codes upon the initial scan that must be addressed.

SO if you only replaced the airbags, you can probably expect to need some seatbelt parts too.

Actually, there is a whole shopping list of parts that are to be replaced after an airbag deployment event. The list can vary depending on the items deployed.
Impact sensors (fronts and/or sides), bags, side bags, belts, buckles, control unit, clockspring, etc.

The buckles are hard to tell when they have been deployed, there's only like an inch difference in height between new and deployed.
