Rep Power: 0 Driver door lock problem
Hey everyone,
My problem is that my key will go into the slot but will not turn at all, I did buy it preowned so maybe a previous driver replaced the lock but I do not think so. Also, the power door lock switch and keyless entry will not do anything to the driver's side door, but will work for the passenger door. I've been having to manually lock the door and then go through the passenger side to unlock it. I've pulled off the door panel and cannot see if anything is wrong, although I am nowhere near being a mechanic. The power lock switch on the driver's side door does work, but will only lock/unlock the passenger's side door, so there is power to that switch. Any ideas on what to look for or what part might need to be replaced? Is this a common problem with this generation of Civic?

Re: Driver door lock problem
I just bought a 2003 Civic LX and am having the same exact problem. I am guessing that the actuator is going bad. They can be found pretty cheap on ebay. I have been on here as well researching it for a couple days now and can't really find much. I am also looking to find out if my car came with keyless entry already installed and the dealer just lost the fobs.

armydave, your car is one year too old for that. Doesn't sound like a tough mod though: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...ss-remote.html
