Unhappy Faulty A/F sensor 1

I went to Autozone for a test due I have a light on "check engine and maintenance req'd; the test came with a Faulty A/F sensor 1. What does that means?.

One more: Can I purge the power steering fluid?

Re: Faulty A/F sensor 1

Air/Fuel sensor, Means your O2 sensor is bad.. I beleive the 1 is telling you its bank 1 which would be your "upper" sensor.

I wouldn't call it a purge, but yes you can do a drain and fill of your power steerig fluid. What year is your car?

Thanks for you help, it's a Civic EX 2001.

You're right I should drain the Power Steering fluid, I need it because I put Brake Fluid by accident and I think it's the reason I got a noise in the steering.

Regarding the O2 sensor you think it's possible to change it by myself or required an specialist?

Thanks again,

Re: Faulty A/F sensor 1

Yes you can do it yourself, You can you tube it and probly find 1000 matches, I have not checked the site but thier may be a DIY on here as well. If not just google search it.. Its pretty simple..just a PIA to get to sometimes.

Do the same thing for the fluid..tons of videos on that to.. and it only takes about 15 mins maybe 30 at most.
