New 01 Civic Owner Anything I need to know?
What up gents, I just got my first civic. It is an 01 DX 5 speed 115K miles. I got it off an old dude, bone stock, original owner total virgin car. Anything I need to do or look for around these miles? It has a new water pump, timing belt, and clutch. Don't know anything about these so any help is appreciated!!

Other than the basic tune up to ensure it is up to date, i would just give it a good look over check brakes,plugs(though they were probly done with belt). Basically just look at the items that wear and see if any need replacing.. these cars last forever if you take care of them.

That many miles, timing belt and water pump should have been replaced. Check to see if that had been done already. If not, that maintenance costs ~$650 at a dealership

a few things to add to my list that slipped my mind....
- replace air filter
- replace pcv valve
- inspect 2 drive belts, replace if nessessary

New Civic owner here too. Two days ago bought a 2007 Civic LX for granddaughter. Everything looks good. Has 68K miles with good tires. Service history shows oil changed every 4-5K since new. Drives great. I'm checking all filters etc. now. Having brakes inspected today. Any other useful info you kind fellows could provide would be very helpful. Turning it over to grandaughter on Good Friday so need to have everything checked out before then. Great forum with good info.
