2001 Civic Coupe leaking roof

my civic is leaking inside when it rains. The water pools on top of the roof lining and leaks by the rear view mirror.

A mechanic said I should have the windshield reseated. Not sure but I thought I would ask first.
Has anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks
Kubie

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 2001 Civic Coupe leaking roof

Here's a thought, see if that windshield is leaking. And find WHERE it's leaking.

Get soapy water that will make good bubbles.
Run the engine.
Set heater controls to COOL and FRESH air.
Don't need to run the AC.
Run the blower fan full blast

Close all doors, roll up windows tight.

Wash the car. Soap up the edges of the windshield area good, watch for bubbles to form.

If it is really leaking, I'd have a glass company reseal it.
They might find it has already been replaced and was done shoddily. BTDT.

Really, unless there are HOLES in the roof, it's almost gotta be a windshield that isn't sealed right.

Re: 2001 Civic Coupe leaking roof

Just took a garden hose to a 2000 Landcruiser. found the roof leaking. Water running past the windshield right onto the pcm. Garden hose and a flashlight my 04 hase had crazy windshield issues, but no leaks. I know honda has had tsbs for aftermarket windshields in the past.
