Remote Starter and bypass kits

Hi everyone,

I am not sure if this would be appropriate to ask here but i am sure that there are some members that are fans of car electronics. I am curious about something, and i would like to know

with so many different brands of remote starters and bypass kits,
how do you know which one goes with what.

Ex, if i get a viper starter of compustar, how would i know what bypass or immobilizer i need, and if they work together.

Thanks

Re: Remote Starter and bypass kits

They all pretty much work with each other. The immobilizer only needs one signal from the remote start module and all remote start modules would have that signal or a way to get it. I am a fan of Directed Electronics brands. I have a python remote start and a directed bypass kit everything works great together but the bypass kit can be used with any brand remote start.

Re: Remote Starter and bypass kits

My sister jus had on installed a compustar with a idatalink blade unit. The blade simply slides in the compustar like a cartridge.
I found that pretty nice. But they are not all like that.

Re: Remote Starter and bypass kits

I'm running a Compustar alarm/remote start system with an Xpress Kit bypass immobilizer. No problems what so ever for over 2 years now.

The manual transmission makes the remote start very interesting!
