Jerking on 3rd and 4th gear.

Hey guys,

I have a 04 civic EX. So recently I've been having some intermittent jerking on 3rd and 4th gear. It doesn't happen on neutral, 1st or 2nd gear. The jerking happens most when i accelerate. When I let go off the gas a little bit and accelerate slowly, it stops.

This all started after i removed the battery cable for cleaning. I thought it was the ECU at first so i tried resetting it and no luck. My car has 100k on it and i was about to do the timing belt, but this started happening. Could it be the timing belt and the timing is off?

I also checked the vtec solenoid, but it was good. I'm bout to check the fuel press. to see if can be a fuel supply problem. Other than that any suggestions what else to check?

Thnx guys!!!!! Any input is greatly appreciated

i don't think it's the air filter, just cleaned it last summer. If it was a slipping clutch i would feel it at all gears.
