What to buy first?

Hey guys i just got my 04 civic Ex, bought it with my own money! i want to know what to do first? here is a list of things i want to do:
-New wheels
-Lip kit all around
-Projector Bulb headlights / led tails
-I need to get the car repainted a little
-new exhaust
-lowering springs - 2 in and shocks all round

i Dont really want coil overs b/c im not dropping low and there kinda expensive. I need to replace the front and back bumper aswell, so ill do those first, i need new tires like right now, so i buy the rims, drop the car, get the lip kit and then repaint it all? coming from experienced people how does that sound? should i change the order? And again thanks guys! sorry if in a nub.

But i figure,

Re: What to buy first?

Welcome to the forums!

I would drop and do wheels at the same time, then lip, then paint.
Headlights and exhaust aren't really essential to looks or performance; so they come last in my book.
And if you're changing shocks + springs at the same time, you might as well get coilovers, since they're not much that much more than replacing both.

Post up some pics of your ride, we'd love to see your progress as you work on it

Re: What to buy first?

Not to hijack your thread, but I also have the same questions. Just bought an 05 Civic Si sedan, looking on what to do to it. I'm a total beginner as well, and the car is stock. Also this is my winter car so not looking to pour tons of $$$ into it. I was thinking just doing the engine performance but it's a D17a2 and I hear they're not worth it. I'd maybe like to lower it a bit though.

Re: What to buy first?

There is no such thing as "engine performance" on the d17 unless you spend $5000+ on a serious turbo.

Suspension is the ways to go on your civic. Out cars handle very well with the correct setup. Coilovers are always better because you can adjust them up and down (think winter ans snow)

Re: What to buy first?

thanks, ill do that. But im deffinate next thing im doing is suspension. So ive been looking on ebay and saw these :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NNR-HEIGHT-A...8049b7&vxp=mtr

Ik they arnt name brand and wont be the best ride quality, but its withen my price budget. Im trying to stay around 400 for the lowering spring and shocks, or for this cheap coil over set. I havnt heard too bad things about these, but it gets the job done for a decent price. What do you think,

Re: What to buy first?

lol those 300 dollar coilovers are rebranded raceland, rokkors the ones i said to stay away from. honestly you don't want to spend under 900 dollars for suspension. i always recommend Progress Technology the only other setup i would consider using are Ground Control sleeves with Koni Yellow shocks or inserts.

Re: What to buy first?

Let's not to forget to tell our friend about the RSX type S rear swaybar that swaps right on for less body roll. The 02-04 is 19mm, 05-06 is 21mm, the factory on the EX is only 13mm. If you go on the RSX forums and look under the complete part outs section of for sale. Make some offers, usually around 60-80 is a descent price, I got one for 55 so negotiate. Well worth it.
