I was going to buy a 98 civic dx 5 speed but today on my way home from work I spotted a 2002 civic dx 5 speed . this is basically a car I need to drive to work everyday and the trip is 26 miles round trip. anything I should look for before I go sign the paper work? its rust free and clean but has 275000 miles. I drove it about 10 miles and it feels good no engine noise clutch felt good and seems to have decent power. the 98 civic had 160000 mile but was 1200.00 the 2002 with more miles is 1700.00. I like the 2002 better.

thats alot of miles but its cheap. i would be concerned with the timing belt.

that will be my first priority. I feel with it being so reasonably priced I can afford to put some cash into it.

also motor mounts,ball joints,control arm bushings,suspension

its not a dx but it an hx and I brought it home today. it seems to run be tight in the suspension , the interior is filthy and it has a cassette player.
