Rep Power: 0 Just bought parts for the timing belt change! How'd I do?
Well, after searching all of the tutorials and DIY threads for at least on hour I've decided I shall take the burden of doing the labor myself this next coming weekend. I searched and searched for what parts to get and this is what I came up with. Note that I did shop around and changed from OEM to aftermarket where I felt like it was acceptable. Please let me know if I should change the order before everything ships out come Monday.
OEM parts purchased from http://www.autohausaz.com
They had the cheapest 2-day shipping saving me nearly $20.00 alone there. Parts were slightly more expensive by about 5-10% more compared to Magestic or Unlimited, but the savings on the shipping more than made up for it.
OEM:
W0133-1837605 Arai Seisakusho Engine Camshaft Seal $4.02
W0133-1640774 NOK Engine Crankshaft Seal; OEM $4.03
W0133-1625755 Gates Engine Timing Belt $22.43
W0133-1637206 OPT Engine Valve Cover Gasket; OEM $9.59
W0133-1636125 Bando Serpentine Belt $11.33
W0133-1637308 Bando Serpentine Belt $8.69
Aftermarket parts bought from Advanceauto with a nice 40% off coupon (coupon code: CCABIN)
Part No: 84120 Dayco Timing Component Kit $42.18
Part No. 135-2420 ToughOne or GMB New Water Pump $26.87
I also picked up the
Parts not for the timing belt, but seeing if these will fix my minor oil leak. http://imgur.com/Lkr6C
Mark Automotive Engine Oil Drain Plug $1.53
14mm Aluminum Seal Washer; 14x20x1.5mm
Engine Oil Pump Gasket $1.12
Well I guess my only concerns are using a GMB pump which seems to be an alright brand and then using a Dayco Tensioner with the Gates belt, which Dayco seems to be good as well. I don't see any problem with those all working together and it saved me nearly $70 alone just switching those two pieces out from OEM.
Thanks for any feedback!

i dont see a water pump gasket anywhere, you will need a new one....
also replace the spring on the tensioner, not sure if your tensioner comes with one or not....
depending on the year and model of your engine, the new tensioner might require a longer bolt, newer tensioners are wider, pay close attention to this, compare your old tensioner to the new one....if its wider you will need a longer bolt for it....if you replace the older tensioner with a newer tensioner the bolt will not be long enough and you will strip the threads!!!
make sure you have coolant on hand, you will need to drain it all to do the water pump, i would use OEM blue stuff and might as well throw a new thermostat in there while you have it all drained....
i would be interested to hear how the job goes as i myself am going to tackle the exact same thing in about another month....i have replaced timing belts on various cars before but for some reason this one has me a bit intimidated....

Thanks for the reply! I just picked up a Beck/Arnley gasket. As for the spring is that something a local store would have? Maybe NAPA? Also I'm sure they would have a bolt of the correct size. Would Coolant be best to get from the dealer? I looked online and while it was at a sale price, it seems as though shipping two gallons is not cheap

Thank you. Just so I know what I'm looking for exactly, would you know the part number for the spring and possible the bolt by any chance?
How about these?
W0133-1818268 OES Genuine Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Bolt; 10x53x1.25mm
90011-PG6-004 BOLT, TIMING BELT ADJUSTER SPRING - 2004 Honda CIVIC
I'd assume with the bolt, it may very well be something I just have to see in person to ensure the correct fit and I'll factor that in come Thursday, but thanks for any advice again!

yeah that looks like the bolt....i would just compare the old tensioner to the new tensioner....if they are EXACTLY the same then you can use the old bolt....if the new tensioner is slightly wider then your going to need the longer bolt....i would have one on hand just in case, they are only a few bucks
here is a video of somebody who used the wrong bolt....not pretty....
