Re: em2 dropping/lowering ..HELP

I honestly hate the search function on these boards lol...but Tony, it all depends on how low you wanna go and how much you wanna spend...the lower you go, the more costly it gets...what are you looking to do with it?

Re: em2 dropping/lowering ..HELP

after about 1.8 inches things start getting much more expensive and big problems start coming up more frequently. At 3" your frame is getting scraped over every bump.

Re: em2 dropping/lowering ..HELP

I'm lowered about 3" (fender to ground clearence is about 24") And things get interesting, to say the least...I have 17" rims with wide tires in the front, and a fender roll helped, but the tires still hit the bumper clip under the fender over large bumps, and I had to remove the fender liners as well, cause the tires were chewing them up...I don't have inverted tie rods, although my car was professionally aligned, but the messed up angle the tie rods are on make the car pretty squirrely over rough roads. Unless you want to deal with the hassle of correcting these things (which I am slowly correcting as funds come in) I'd say stil to a 2" drop.

Re: em2 dropping/lowering ..HELP

IM about 23.25-23.5 inches ground to fender for a total of about 3.5" and have had to do the following

-Roll front and rear fenders
- Cut a small section of the splash guard
- Change tires from 215/45 to 205/40
- Invert my tie rod ends (I did this myself with a tapering bit and just flipped my rod ends. Worked FINE. You have to be careful tho....

My ride is stiff so that I can ride that low and not have the axles hit the unibody. Next step is to notch the frame and weld it for strength them I will be getting a softer spring so I can ride the same height but a bit softer. I am sure I will run into issues at that point as well....

I'm running 225/45/17's in the front (I got them from a buddy for cheap) and they wreak havok like you wouldnt believe lol...I'm also looking at some 205/40's cause it gets messy when you start hitting some bumps.

Also, when you get low enough to need to notch the body, you wanna start looking into extended ball joints as well...and another guy found a bracket make for the RSX that replaces the one that the tie rods attach to that lowers the mount point and straightens out the tie rods even better.
