My wife's Civic from 2003 is barely at 50,000 miles. We lived in NC and now in MS, and the car traveled short distances when we were not in our main vehicle. I just realized I completely forgot about the timing belt.
The manual says 7 years, but does the fact that this is such a low mileage car change anything? Or should I be running to the shop?
Thx.

In my basic knowledge, 120,000... I never counted by years, only by miles. That's just me though.

Low miles, but still 9 years worth of weather wearing away at the belt. I would pop the timing cover off and have someone knowledgeable who you trust give an opinion on it's condition.

yea, thats a 9 year old belt. i would suggest you change it.
if it snaps, you can pretty much expect to replace the whole engine.
