Hey guys im a new member, but not new to forums. I've used this site for great answers and ideas for the past two years but now I think Ralph (I named him that cuz i think EM2's just look like a mouse from the front end) is worthy enough to put on the forum. Let me know what you guys think. Pics in order of the journey with him the past two years.
Day of purchase
Then came the short "black out" phase.. (influenced from my roomate.. Slammed blacked out bimmer)
Then began the red accenting
(Now have a red headunit)
Recent valve adjustment and timing belt job
Before the drop on stock setup (needed a drop baddddd)
After
Removed the resonator. Stock cat. Magnaflow muffler
Also the owner of a Hyosung 650 motorcycle. Unique and usually unheard of to almost everyone. A rather new cheap sport bike company
Im 20yo. I work full time at a shop and am a full time student at a Community college for Automotive. I am a hard worker and love cars so dont talk smack about Ralph, i do what i can

D2 Coilovers. Ordering Megan or similar camber kit for the rear soon. Also need new outer tie rods.. Which brings me to my first question to you guys: With the added drop in the front and maxing out my upper camber plates to the most positive camber, ive run out of threads on the inner tie rods to adjust my toe in.. I've got the threads almost maxed out and still positive toe on both ends.. Not gonna fly. Been searching and searching but no answers. I see that the EP3 tie rods can fit but are they longer?
Help? Anyone?

I saw this thread a long time ago and I'm not quite sure why I didn't leave a comment. That's a nice looking EM2. The murdered-out black looks pretty awesome! I'm also glad to see I'm not the only one on here about to hack up a perfectly good Special Edition. At least it's not some super rare collector's car, but still, you know what I mean... it's somewhat unique
I'll be looking forward to any progress made on it. Hopefully I can get my hands dirty soon and lower my car.

Recent upgrades: 55w 3000k fog lights. Red Mugen floor mats. Red Led under feet. Red dome light. Back to stock red tails. And the most obvious... (a bit flashy for me but still getting used to them) red wheels

As do I, but very influence by my roommate (blacked out M3). I thought the red stripe was a nice contrast (and yes very "TA" wannabe). After numerous alignments the paint job was **** so i re-sprayed them with red plasti-dip. Also got a pair of Megan rear camber arms to fix that rear camber angle. (was -5.5 )
The red is a little flashy or "trying to hard" to me, but it goes with the theme of the car inside and out.. It will do for now.. maybe gold next time

Indeed! Its Korean made. I scooped it up for dirt cheap as the first owner was clueless to mainenance. (Needed front rotors, pads were non existant, new clutch cable, oil change, thats it) picked it up with 3k miles on it. It has a great torque curve for city commuting (between 4500RPM-8500RPM) but loses top end at around 9200RPM. A jap 650 murders it on the highway. Off the line I get about 2 lengths until we hit 3rd gear.
The sound of the v-twin and the yoshi pipe is insane. It sounds like a whole different breed of harley. Sporty grumble. I loveee it idling. poka poka poka poka poka POP poka poka
Overall, it is the SV650 steel frame (HEAVY) with a 650 v-twin. The bike weighs 440lbs which is a bit too much for a bike this size. Known for sketchy electrical problems (ive never had one). It handles well in the curves but it just doesnt posses the engine qualities of yamaha, kawasaki, etc. I have enjoyed owning the bike as the aggressive styling turns heads everywhere i go, but the aftermarket parts are limited.. They sell new for around 5-6K. I got it for 1800. And its carbureted

I have a custom catback exhaust installed, but I have the same problem. ha, I even posted a thread about it. It has a nasty downward bend right behind the cat. My car's not even lowered yet and it scrapes occasionally. Did you lower yours on coilovers? ...and how low is it? I will be getting some Teins very soon. How easy was the install?
