I'm buying the Morimoto mini h1 kit and it offers options for two things I'm unsure of
wiring harness: I'm assuming that this is the same wiring harness that people make themselves on here. If that's true, then I plan on making my own. Otherwise which one?
adapter plate: Not even sure what this is. Which one do I need?

i dont see any adaptor plate option???
you need a harness. the one they have isnt all that great and if u can make ur own using thicker wire, go for it...otherwise just buy theirs. it'll be cheaper for you.

Here is the link. The adapter plate is the first dropdown box. Which adapter and harness should I get with it? I would think the H4 but when I read on their site about the harnesses, it didn't say that H4 was for bi-xenon. It said it was for low beams.

^holy **** that is expensive.
the adaptor plate is so u can plug it in to a specific socket.
are u using oem headlights???
if so, you want the H4 socket.
i would also suggest you getting the sealant (+$10). u dont wanna resue ur old crappy sealant.

270 is a big price... thats really high.
if i were you, id buy it like this:
buy projector alone
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3181
buy sealant
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=792
buy hid kit from DDM (they have lifetime warranty) i have ordered/own 8 of their kits for the last 6 years. no problems.
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W
for the HID ballast, make sure u select
wattage: 35w
bulb: H1
bulb color: 4300k (or 5000k, but i would not suggest anything higher because the output gets diminished)
so ur cost would be:
$120 projector(comes with shroud)
$15 sealant
$40 DDM hid kit
total: $175
instead of $280
(270kit + 10 sealant)

what model is ur mini?
a note to the OP: the reason why i ask this is because they JUST CAME OUT with the version 4.1
the older versions had a WEAK solenoid and the shield would get stuck. if u used it a lot (i use to drive with highbeams on)
how do i know? because i had version 3 of the minis. had to send it in for a replacement.

I bought them... too bad I didn't see your post about the used set. Oh well. The reason I jumped now was because of that toyota forum group buy that they let us in on. It ended up being $215 including shipping or $200 without. Plus I wanted a good quality setup. Everything is there and I know the ballasts are good quality--not some total junk setup.

Yeah I guess so lol. I've been wanting to get these since I got my first civic 3 years ago so when I finally decided to buy them I jumped on it. The 25% off gave me a good excuse. From what I heard from everyone theretrofitsource has good quality products and I didn't want to end up with a bad ballast or crappy bulbs that didn't work or got fried after 10 uses. Plus I liked the fact that it all came in a set. That way I can't get all the stuff, pull apart the car and then realize I need a $2 part that I didn't get to finish it up. (That usually happens)

as for bulbs, they should be changed out every few years because the lumens output drops quite a bit

I know I just wanted to explain why I was getting the kit instead of piecing together stuff from different places even though it would probably be a tad cheaper.
