Re: New Recall for 01-03's airbags
this is probably a dumb (noob) question...but since I just picked up a 2001 civic.....i should be able to bring my car in to get inspected right? My SRS light still stays on even after trying to reset it following some instructions here. During the reset...it would blink twice as if is resetting.....then the SRS light comes back on. Thanks in advance....

You can always take your car to a dealer and they will check for recalls for free, if there is an open recall on your car they are supposed to fix it for free also.

NP. When I bought my 2007 i took it in to have 2 recalls fixed, also had one done on my 90 5.0 after i got that and it was 2002, so if there is a recall they should take care of it no questions asked.

input your vin, it'll tell you if you car is part of this (or any) recall.. Mine's apparently not.. either that or they haven't updated the recall list.. or.. something..

i just called the dealer and they confirmed this recall only applies if you had the airbag replaced. i guess they were fine at the time of install at the factory, but the replacement parts had the problem if you were in an accident and needed new airbags.

I called Honda to see if my car was covered under this recall and turns out it is. I Contacted my nearest Honda dealership and they didn't even hear about that recall..The guy at honda dealership called me back couple hours after our convo and said he has the replacement part on order and it would be there in less than a week!
