Transmission Dead: Which Rebuild Kit

Well my trans finally went in my 2001 Civic EX Auto........ I know.....same old story. But I got 140K out of it.....so I'm fine with that. I'm going to go the route of rebuilding it as I know I'll just run into the same problems later if I swap in another. I'm going to have a trans place in my neighborhood do it.....but I want to make sure I use quality parts. Anyone who's been through this recommend one rebuild kit over another? Anything else I should replace while its open. Any insight would be helpful.

I've come to understand the best rebuild kit to be the "TCI Honda Civic Master Racing Overhaul Kit". It has red eagle clutches. You should also probably use Honda ATF-DW1 fluid (not like you have much choice, ATF-Z1 sucks and isn't manufactured anymore. Some people trust aftermarket fluid more than Honda, but DW1 looks good on paper and works just fine in my transmission.)

to add to the above info, get an external fluid filter unless you plan to change the fluid every 6-12 months to keep it clean. so long as the rebuild shop does a good job and cleans everything out so you have a like-new trans inside, DW1 should be fine to use.
