code 11 on civic 2004

i recently buy a civic 2004..after 4 days of driving CEL light up and i did self diagnose, ECU throws code 8 and 11...i reset the ECU and did diagnose again, the code 8 vanished but code 11 still stored....and one day the car stalled along the way, and i did diagnose again the code 8 is present again..once i reset the ecu..the engine will start and run again and stall again for couple of hours of driving...and found the code 8 everytime the car is stalled... i run to mr. google and find this site..i found out that code 8 is TDC sensor and 11 is for IMA sensor...one of my friend suggest me to look for ECU the car using right now...and we found out that the ecu is PLC-Y51..back to mr google again...the ECU PLC-Y51 is for 2001 civic with engine d15Y3 A/T tranny without cat converter and 02 sensor but ecu run with IMA sensor....and i found out that my 2004 civic with engine d15y2 A/T tranny with cat converter and o2 sensor should use PLC-Y82 according to honda parts list i had read..so i conclude thats why my ECU is throwing code 11 because ECU PLC Y51 is looking for IMA sensor..now may i ask for everyones help on how to pin the IMA sensor on installed ECU PLC Y51 on my civic 2004 instead of buying specify ECU PLC Y82 for civic 2004...by the way my car didnt stall since i changed a new TDC sensor..any suggestion or idea on how to pin the IMA sensor on ECU PLC Y51 for civic 2001.... so that my code 11 will be clear..thanks in advance for your help regarding this thread.

Re: code 11 on civic 2004

sorry for long post..maybe i didnt discuss it clearly..ok to make it short...i found out that my civic 2004 had been change with wrong ECU according to manual...the ECU install now is PLC y51 instead of PLC y82 which is the right ECU for the engine and year model according to manual....the ECU PLC y51 uses IMA sensor (currently installed on car and for model 2001 civic lxi) while the ECU PLC y82 uses cat converter and o2 (for model 2004 civic lxi)...logically PLC y51 will look for IMA sensor (which is not present to model 2004 civic)i want to clear the code 11 that ecu PLC y51 throwing right now by wiring up IMA sensor to ecu PLC y51...any ideas which pin number on ECU PLC y51 to wire the IMA sensor...thanks

Re: code 11 on civic 2004

Not a fan of grammar stuff, but aside from cutting you down here goes. The first order of business is you shouldn't trust google. You're car should have a d17, not a d15. To my knowledge the (slxa?) transmission was never behind a d15. You sound like you have a Frankenstein combo. See what you actually have in there. You can see the stamped engine model number on the side of the engine toward the radiator right beside where it mounts to the transmission. The transmission has a tag close to where the dipstick is. Get a flashlight and shine that area.

Re: code 11 on civic 2004

thanks for the thoughts, dude, but this is not about how i use spacing and punctuation, as long as you can read and understand my problem about my civic's ECU...i am here to get some ideas, help or solution regarding on how to wire the 3 wire of IMA sensor on currently installed ECU PLC-Y51.

Re: code 11 on civic 2004

D15Y3

Found in:
2001–2006 Civic EXi (Africa,Dubai,Pakistan)
Displacement : 1,493 cc (91.1 cu in)
Bore and Stroke : 75.0 × 84.5 mm (3 × 3 in)
Power: 110 hp (82 kW; 112 PS) at 5,800 rpm)
Torque : 135 Nm (13.8 kgm) at 4,500 rpm
Valvetrain : SOHC four valves per cylinder (non-VTEC)

Unless someone ebayed an engine from oversees, which is unlikely due to ship costs, you don't have that one..

As for the D15Y2

I can find almost no information on it. All I can find is that it is non vtec.
I would be more inclined to find out what it was than to hack up the harness.

Re: code 11 on civic 2004

sir did you check my link that i gave.by the way,im here in middle east and some say engine of honda here is different from other country.my car is honda civic 2004 A/T d15y2 engine running w/ ecu plc-y51. the car idling fine w/ that ecu PLC-y51 but the only problem is ecu plc-y51 throwing code 11 which is IMA sensor, because ECU PLC-y51 is equipped with IMA which is not present to 2004 honda civic.thats why i want to know how to wire an IMA sensor on ecu plc-y51 so that code 11 will vanish.thanks

Yes I did check your links. No I didn't even think about being from another country, don't honestly know where to lead you. Let me do some research through some schematics....

Re: code 11 on civic 2004

Glad you found what you needed. I couldn't find schematics that applied to your engines. Where did you?
As an aside, I don't think US cars use the IMA sensors, that could be the reason I couldn't find anything.
