new manifold spring bolts

ok so two years ago when i installed my megen header and after market down pipe the kit did not come with spring bolts and my stock ones were rusted out. yesterday i got some new spring bolts i wondering if i install these if i could possibly get an exhaust leak because i notice the stock gasket is designed to flex at least thats how majestic describes the gasket. the one that came with the kit im uncertain it will hold up what do you think.

Re: new manifold spring bolts

you can get away with reusing the bottom donut gasket since its a hard metal type (just make sure the header lines up properly or it is very easy to have a leak). the top one is a crush gasket and will leak if you use it again. but you should not need to touch the top of the header at all.

Re: new manifold spring bolts

i guess there's only one way to find out. hopefully this will alleviate some of the rattling against the subframe especially in the rain.
