Dying Seats?

Has anyone on here had experience using fabric dye on their cloth seats? My car has gray interior with that horrible blue design on the seats. I've seen products like Simply Spray advertized, and I was wondering if it's possible to just spray them dark gray/black. Anyone ever do this to their seats?

Re: Dying Seats?

yeah it looks and feels like crap. if you like the feeling of sitting on dry leaves all the time and getting pieces of fabric stuck to your clothes, this might be for you.

Re: Dying Seats?

there is, it just doesnt come in a spray can and is much harder to do. there are companies that sell fabric dyes as liquid that you basically soak the seat fabric in. you would have to remove the stock seat covers and soak them following the directions on the dye packet. just removing and refitting the covers is quite a bit of work. finding the right chemical dye that works with your fabric type is another problem. and finally, finding a big enough container to do it in outside while trying to avoid the fumes. then letting it dry and reinstalling.

Re: Dying Seats?

thats sounds pretty much what i thought it would be like.

that would be the best alternative to itchy seats, just a lot of work.
