Rep Power: 173 I think my clutch might be dying :(
I bought the car last year around this time, and the clutch pedal would engage and disengage at around half way when pressing it to the floor. Now, it's nearly at the beginning of the pedal (so, close to me, not the floor). Could this be a sign of a clutch on its last legs?
This is my first manual car, but I learned to drive stick on a friends car, not mine. I've stalled maybe 5-10 times in total and I do my best to never burn the clutch and I drive it very easy most of the time. I'll admit I've dropped the clutch from 3-4k rpm's a couple times (4-8) but 99% of the time I'm driving for fuel efficiency.
On a side note... over the last month or so, the clutch (not the pedal) has been extra 'sticky'. It's like as soon as it reaches the friction point, it'll grab onto the flywheel like super glue and it's been getting harder and harder to do smooth starts from a stop.
And lastly, it's been slipping for the first times ever in the past month or so. Although I'm having trouble differentiating between that and wheel hop or maybe if the wheel are just spinning.

A slipping clutch is most noticeable during acceleration. If you're picking up speed and the tach starts shooting up without a noticeable change in mph, then your clutch is slipping. Pedal travel will change as you drive because the clutch material does wear out over time due to use. If it's slipping in top gear, then it would be a wise choice to get it replaced as there isn't much torque in 5th. But by then, the slippage would already be seen in the lower gears.

Ah ok well I just looked up slipping and it's definitely not slipping. Hopefully it's still got more life in it than I though. I have 127,000 km (79k miles)
