Instead of just making new threads with purchased things or ideas for the car, I'll just make it all into one thread. I don't have a lot of cash so this will be one of those threads where its updated very slowly. And I am not going extreme with my car, just a few things that fit my taste.
Purchased the car in 7-2011 with 107,xxx and installed 6k Hid's that week.
Picked up from dealer:
Dealer tinted windows before I picked it up:
Hid's:
Was backed into december of 2010:
Repaired:
Removed mudflaps and debadged the back:
Picked up a set of my favorite wheels of all times. Enkei Shoguns 17x7 but they need some work. I'm not 100% sure how they will look so I have a set of tires to see if I like them or not:
I love gauges, So I picked these up for very cheap, selling the air/fuel gauge and have an oil temp guage coming instead:
Cleaned the car up over last weekend, engine included:
Before:
After:
Car is nothing special as you can see. But here is what I plan to do.....for now
Interior:
Rsx seats
A-pillar gauges (have)
DC5 cluster
Exterior:
OEM Fogs
UKDM Tails
Suspension:
Coilovers (still researching)
Shoguns
Rsx sways
Engine:
None (Maybe an actual CAI and paint it black, I hate the stock intake and I think an actual CAI painted black would clean up the engine bay. But will be long down my list since it won't do anything.
Please give me suggestions. I'm open for discussion.

Ep3 seats are better than dc5 seats in my opinion.
If your going to get an intake don't go with a short ram, the cai just heats up the air more.

Wheels aren't on the car yet. And I love the wheels, but the tires that came on them are shot. So I haven't seen them on yet. And I've seen one 7th gen with these wheels and was lowered, I thought it looked sexy.
Yes I'm going to remove the pin stripe, just haven't gotten around to it lol. Been working too much.
Ep3 seats are ok. I would love to get S2k seats, but that won't happen. I most likely won't get any intake for it, but if I were, it wouldn't be short ram.

Wait.. what.. Don't get short ram intake? I thought short ram was the good one.. I'm not diggin' the rims but the car looks awesome. What's wrong with HID's in a stock housing?

I just don't like the look of the filter in the bay on short ram intakes or the WAI aem ones. Just bugs me for some reason.
No I'm not getting projector housings, I despise the look of them. Maybe retrofit when I get some spare time to work on them.
Yes, I know, most people hate these wheels. The pic quality is hiding a lot of the scratches that are on the wheels. But they are not bent in anyway nor are they cracked. They will be $35 a wheel to have them back to looking like they did when they were made. That is if I like the look of them on the car first. Everyone lowers on stock wheels or 15/16. Yes it looks good but meh, I want to try these first.
The cluster is in my basement and I haven't installed it yet, eventhough I'm dying to lol.

ill take those stock rims off ya hands if u decide not to use em haha i think they look good..
as for the rest of the car, looks great, clean and nice.. good work cleanin up the engine bay too btw. and only exterior thing i'd recommend is a spoiler.. nothin fancy, i think a silver stock one would be best.
cant wait to see more..

People who run HID's in a reflector housing are being inconsiderate dicks to basically everyone on the road... I think that's basically it. Maybe if it was a halogen projector assembly it could be acceptable (but even then, not all of those will really do a good job of keeping light in the right place with an HID installed).
Best to do it right and retrofit a HID projector assembly.

Re: Tipnitty's official thread
I bet .
There is a more practical and selfish reason for putting the projectors in, too. The HID's still only put out so much light... if you're wasting a bunch of it by lighting up the sky, it's not down the road where you want it (and side-to-side, too).
I hope that most people who are wasting their money doing it wrong, are also the kind of people who think 13k+ HID's are the brightest.

The higher the temp, then it HAS to be brighter...right?!
/sarcasm
haha, yes i know about the hids, but for the civic, the light is so low, that it doesnt really effect other drivers, and the main reason why most people do without the retro, is mainly costs.

pretty much europe, and they are expensive. i havent seen uk stuff in a long time. and dont install that a/f gauge. it wont work off the stock sensor and can mess up the way your engine runs by screwing with the sensor voltages the ecu sees.

Not installing that gauge. Its just in the pillar until I can get a different gauge. It just came with the set. I hate that specific gauge. Pretty useless IMO.
Oh well on the tails. I'll keep the search going.

Well no actual parts updates, but was waiting for my lady and figured I would take a few pics. I sold the pillar gauges and am currently looking for a set of fog lights and tokico blues. But money is tight like always so who knows when I'll be able to actually add a few parts to the car. But if the weather is nice tomorrow I plan on removing the pin stripe.

Fat fives haven't come off it yet lol. The shoguns remain in the basement until I can find some tokico blues and either lowering spring or GC's. Once its lowered I'll put the shoguns on and see how I feel about them.

The longer I wait for an opportunity to buy parts, the more I appreciate them. There's a certain part I've wanted for over a year, but I just can't justify spending the money until I find it for a steal or save some more cash.
I enjoy seeing a car with only a few mods better than one with tons all paid for by credit card, which is pretty common.

I hear ya man. It felt amazing to find the shoguns, I'm sure it will be the same once I find the suspension components I need. I'm pretty sure once I lower it, I'll be a happy guy.

No doubt man, to bad you don't live close to me, I'd sell you my lowering springs and tokicos cheap.
Keep up with searching craigslist, that's where I got both my sets of lowering springs and two of my sets of struts, all for a fraction of what they would have costed new but in good shape. I have a rather large stock pile of suspension parts...

Re: Tipnitty's official thread
The rims will look good, they just look funny (to me) because you didn't mount em for the pic.
Exactly like my em2 only I have the grey one with a dent in the door. =(
Do you know if the timing belt has been replaced? 110k is what Honda recommends.

Yeah I do see a lot of cars getting weird mods that I'm not a fan of, but hey it's their cars. But my car will stay clean, to my tastes.
