question regarding the indicator for high beam

Hi, all

I just purchased a 2001 Honda Civic LX (USA version). The indicator for the high beam was good and I have it to be inspected for the NY safety/emission inspection. After that, the indicator did not work even the high beam is on. Any suggestion on this issue? Much thanks in advance for any response.

Best regards,
gg

Re: question regarding the indicator for high beam

Is the high beam working, just the indicator isn't? Or is the high beam not working at all?

Re: question regarding the indicator for high beam

if hi beam actually works, but indicator does not light up, its a bad bulb. older style civic 01-02 uses replaceable bulb for the hi beam icon. take gauge cluster off, twist the bulb out behind, and find a new one at the auto store that fits. there are a few different sizes depending on the model.

Re: question regarding the indicator for high beam

I would bet being an indicator... it is a neo-wedge style bulb & socket assy.

Easy fix though.

The high beam working. Just the high beam indicator (blue one) is not lit up.

Previously both of them worked: I mean when the high beam is chosen, the indicator lit up. However, after I have the car under the NYS safety/emission inspection, the indicator did not work.

Re: question regarding the indicator for high beam

^^ Screws in top of black bezel trim, then pull straight back (may be the hardest part)

Screws for cluster will be revealed... pull cluster, release wiring connector clips to remove plugs at back of cluster.
