Smile A question asked so many times... Cluster Swap

I know this has been asked a bunch and i've found some info, but I just want to be sure. So I'm looking to buy and swap a 05 red Civic Coupe Cluster into my 02 Civic Coupe but I had some questions I wanted to clarify first.

1) I know that they are swappable, but how hard and time consuming is the swap. Any very detailed DIY link you could post would be AWESOME.

2) I also plan on swapping the leds in the dials and such from (led automotive), but I have found no way to change the color of the stock cd player, any info on that?

3) I'm installing an Auto Cluster in my Manuel, will the shifters (PRD12) light up? Any pictures of this? And will the tach still work properly, I've noticed it's smaller than the manuel one.

4) Will any lights show up due to the switch? The model i'm buying is "CIVIC 2003 - 2005 (cluster), Cpe (2 Dr), LX, w/o side air bags; AT"

I know these question have been asked a lot but all help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Carowcliffe

1.) There's a very detailed DIY write-up, just go to the 7th gen DIY subforum and you'll find it.

2.) Changing the colours in the stock CD player would be intense, much much more complicated than the climate controls or gauge cluster swapping. Your better off buying a new deck with colours that match your LEDs.

Re: A question asked so many times... Cluster Swap

thanks for the info, also would you recommend I get a Auto Cluster with 70000 (and wait until my milage is 70) or a Manuel one with 66844 and just install it, and have the milage wrong? My milage is 69000 currently.

To me 2000 mi differences is (not) significant. I am kiddin' You should go with manual one. The tach should work even you use the auto one.

I concure, go with the manual cluster, a few thousand miles isn't a major issue.
