Question performance trouble

Hey guyz,

Can anybody help me with my 02 ex civic please. When I crank my car, it would idle high and low alternatively for 1mn (and a clip, clip sound comes under the dash) then it would remain idling high until I press the gas pedal but wouldn't go over 40 rpm and would start hesitating and/or bogging. If I force it too much it would stall for a while until the engine gets kind of cold.
I've trying to solve this since July.

Mr Gearbox, seems u r pretty good at it, please can u bring me my joy again, my baby is crying for help!

thanKs

Re: performance trouble

sounds like bad tps sensor (you need a replacement throttle body) if the idle is going up and down on its own. any engine light on? throttle bodies are pretty cheap on ebay around $50 for the whole thing with sensors. just be sure to get the right one depending if you have auto or manual trans.

Unhappy Re: performance trouble

Yeah check engine light is on all the time. But I already swapped my auto transmission into a manual, so I'll buy a manual TB. And I was wondering if the EGR valve could cause any of this too, because it can spend a week idling high without going down.

P.S: when I swapped the trans I didn't change the ECU, is that a problem? Anyway, it was having that idling trouble even before I swapped the trans!

Re: performance trouble

well yeah a manual ecu would be better, but i doubt it would cause this many issues. egr can cause idle problems too if the gasket is leaking. best bet is get the code, it will tell you exactly what it is.most auto stores do it free or you can buy a $40 obdII scanner from ebay and keep it around.

Re: performance trouble

the scanner can't read anything, everytime it says error code or can't read or something like that. What else can I do to force the OBDIIto read it? Can the Egr cause the shaking and bogging engine? I meant, the car would never hit more than 40 RPm and the engine is shaking (kind of forcing to pass 40rmp and idling goes kind of: vong vang, up and down I meant). I'm so sad dude coz I love this car so bad!

it seems you might have wiring issues... or ECU...

So if the code reader is returning an error, wouldn't this point to a bad edu? Or maybe its recognizing the AT vs MT ecu issue?
