There was a thread about this a while ago, same thing
Use a small flathead, like the ones you use to fix glasses/small toys
there is a slot between the clear plastic, and bezel.
just stick the screwdriver in there and pry it open, wont break

While we're on the topic of dome light, I just noticed that mine has been making a really strange noise.
It happens when the dome light is turning off/fading out. It makes this really high pitched sound, like electrical towers. I dunno if anyone else has had this problem. It probably just needs a new bulb. Just thought i would throw it out there.

It's normal. Both my 2001's did it. Used to annoy the **** outta me but, I don't even hear it anymore.
First time I heard it I was like "Where's the tv?!". lol

There are 3 places on the edge of the cover (towards the front of the car) where you can stick a small flathead into and pry out. My flathead is in one and you can see the other 2 on either side of it.
Sorry about the fuzz, phone cam.
