i have an 04 civic sedan and i wanna change the oil im not sure what the engine size is i cant find it in any of the documentation. Does anyone know? dealer thought 1.8 when i got it but in the walmart book that has all the cars and stuff listed in it and stuff it only listed 1.7 so i dont know.

04 is a 1.7

Vtec engine will take 3.7qts of 5w-20 oil, non-vtec will take 3.4
If it's a higher mileage engine, you can prolly step up to 5w-30

i can c where he is getting crappy info from a dealer, most places includeing parts stores an websites seem to think our cars especially the 01 comes with anything from a 1.6 1.8 1.7 2.0 an even a 1.5. i dunno y its so hard to get right but thats how it is. bot like every body said u do indeed have a 1.7l

1.8 ... seriously? I knew it was 1.7 before i knew anything about my civic, AND he works at honda, shoulda hired me instead

i didnt no wut size motor it was till i poped the hood at the dealer an looked at the engine code on the block.

lol i just looked at the window sheet an the dealer had it listed as a 1.6l non vtec. lol . kinda sad i still have the sheet after 5 years with this car
