Transmission question

Is it common in an 04' civic lx sedan to have a loud clicking noise when going in and out of gear sometimes? it's an automatic transmission and it seems like every once in a while it's really harsh pulling in and out of park etc... It doesn't seem right but i got it checked out and other than a transmission fluid change everything was reported fine. I'm not talking about going from 1st to 2nd to 3rd or anything just pulling it from park to drive or vise versa.

Re: Transmission question

its most likely because you sometimes park on a incline and it rolls back onto the trans-axle which is extremely bad for your transmission . you should always apply the hand brake before you take your foot off the pedal brake while in park especially on any hill or incline.

Re: Transmission question

i've actually only heard it while on flat ground. i could understand the incline but my drive way is completely flat and i don't live on an incline so when i park in the street it's completely flat.

Re: Transmission question

that may be but the car mite lurch forward when you let the brake go in park. try setting the hand brake like i suggested and see if it still happens.
