alternator / compressor belt squeal 2002 Honda Civic LX
What is the tension for the alternator/compressor belt on a 2002 Honda Civic LX 1.7L?
Symptoms:
1. Condition Compressor OFF: Belt quits squealing when water applied to belt grooves. (Doesn't this indicate an alignment issue?)
BUT
2. It squeals when the compressor is turned ON: (doesn't this indicate a tension problem?)

Squealing usually means loose. And tightening the belt will fix it. Just tighten the wing nuts like lowlife said. But be careful if the plastic on the radiator fans. I cut my hand open pretty good on them multiple times. The tension is .25 but my main drive belt is much tighter.
