Since no one has responded to your thread I should give my 2 cents. Whether or not your going for performance or sound, I would say save for a exhaust system. A muffler will just give you a crappy **** sound. But if you do decide to go with muffler, don't go cheap. Go apexi, hks, skunk2, etc. You get the idea.

My A'PEXi WS-II isn't overbearingly loud. It's noticeable, sounds pretty good at WOT. Got frisky in a tunnel here in Vegas and had it going WOT, and it sounded like I shoulda had way more under the hood than I really do..
Then again, I have a full exhaust system (header, 2.25" downpipe with high-flow cat, 2.25" cat-back exhaust system)

the dc sports single canister exhaust is great. sounds amazing nice an deep no ricey crap an it looks great. the apexi ws2 is an amazing peice as well. plus its not as loud

I know u shouldn't get no fart knocker lol but me I got s custom one with a glass pack sound good and it does it job lol but go with what u like in sound

It really doesn't matter what brand you go with. I'd say get 2.5in piping. If you want name brand get something like dc, apexi, hks,etc. Also you can just get a custom fabd pipe with the same results for cheaper.

Nothing larger than 2.5" in diameter for an exhaust unless you plan on ricing it out. I like rice in food form, not on my car.

I tell people that I've put money into my car, they go "oh geez.. not another fuggin rice rocket.. Those things are so annoying... ugh.."
then they see and hear my car and say "wow, I kinda like it"
Only ricey-ness I have is my stitch (from lilo and stitch) hanging from my rear tow hook, my filipino rice badge, a 5 year old plush Chewbacca on top of my rear view mirror, and LEDs in my center vents. Spoiler, too, but people say it looks better IRL than in pics.
And I happen to like the random "rice" things on my car.. And so does every chick that's sat in my car. They love my randomness

workin on it. I got a window mount for my iphone and I just tested using it as an external mount. It works, but I need to find out how to decrease/eliminate the wind noise in order to hear it. **** sounds hella ricey on video though

I found a spot on the bumper that gives no wind noise and points at the exhaust tip.. That one sounds ricey

I'll bust out the actual camera and set it up on a tripod a few feet behind the car. Idle, a couple of low RPM revs, and a 3k hold for ***** and giggles
