'04 hybrid- need new headlight housings- what to get?

My wife's 2004 hybrid's headlights are glazed over from constant sunlight exposure. I'm about to get a new set of OEM housings, but are there any OEM quality or better housings out there? I wouldn't mind upgrading the lighting while I'm at it.

I'd also like an HID upgrade, but only if it's OEM quality, like real projectors. I don't want any chinese/ebay leakers to waste my money on. Or should I just go OEM and put some quality bulbs in there?

Why don't you just clean the current ones?

Re: '04 hybrid- need new headlight housings- what to get?

the best you will find are the honda oem headlamps. there are cheaper aftermarket "replicas" that look the same but perform very poorly at night. and yeah it would be cheaper to just clean up the old lenses. if you want a brighter 9006 bulb, look at the philips XP version. or check hidillusionz.com if you are interested in custom hid upgrades. or hidplanet.com/forums if you want to do it yourself.

Not interested in polishing them, they are etched badly. The new ones should last for a few more years that we plan to keep the car. $171 each online. I'll go with some brighter bulbs as well.

be sure you go with genuine honda parts. $171 seems a bit cheap. check www.hondaautomotiveparts.com they are one of the best sites for oem new parts.

ah okay sounds good. if you want to keep them looking like new, grab a bottle of wolfgang clear plastic sealer from autogeek.net and apply it like a wax every month or two for sun protection.
