faint whine

01 civic ex 5 speed, car makes a very faint whine sound when driving, is this normal on our model of civic? its not intermittent its constant when in movement
any ideas?

i have a whineing sound coming from my car as well it sounds like its coming from the breaks but my breaks are failry new. only happens when the car is moving.

Also, the whining noise may be the alternator. Place the car in neutral and rev the engine. Does it coincide with the RPMs?

ok i dove deeper into the noise to find it only sounded like it was coming from inside the dash but the noise is coming from the airbox of the airfilter any ideas before i tear into it.

To test the gurgling noise, switch the temperature dial to hot. The noise should be prevalant. When you switch it to cold, it'll go away.

i'm going to wait the gurgling sound disappeared btw (stupid gremlins and gnomes), the ticking sound however is still present, it sounds like it is coming from the the intake manifold side and throttle body area, also the whining sound is the alternator. by the time spring break is over everything under the hood will be new.
