Hey guys quick question. Im just calling around for some plugs for my car and wanted to know what would be better. Place I get discount at doesnt have NGK Irridium plugs but they have NGK Laser Platinum plugs for $15.61 each. Should I go with laser or platinum? Other one I have from another supplier is a pack of 2 NGK Irridiums for $16.49.

Oh also, dont know if it matters he said that the Lasers are OEM style...

LOL, the guy said the Lasers were OEM-style, which is true. But they are not OEM like the NGKs are. Go with the NGKs.

platinum is the worst plug you can buy. the only reason to get it is for long life. its a lousy conductor. copper is the best, iridium is okay but the major advantage of iridium is the smaller electrode so it uses less electrical energy to make the same spark. if you can afford it, go iridium. if not, stick with copper. performance will be the same.

Hey thanks for the feedback. To clarify I have coppers now, and he said "Double platinum laser plug". So the more expensive one is the worse one? Both brands were NGK plugs.
Well I guess I am getting some NGK Irridiums then?

yeah stick with ngk or denso for brand. iridium is best for putting less strain on the ignition system, but you will not get any extra hp over the copper plugs. platinum is expensive due to the actual metal used, and also because they have a longer life. its good for big cars and suvs where it takes 5 hrs just to replace the plugs. not something you want to do very often.

+1. If you look at the 1500+ whp supra's alot of them use Copper plugs.
