Honda 2005 LX Spoiler Question

Hi everyone,
I am about to buy a Honda 2005 civic and I am thinking about putting a spoiler on it. This is the first time I am buying a car so I have no idea what to do. Where can i find a spoiler for this car? I know there are different types of spoilers. I just want something that looks like an OEM spoiler. I'm only doing this for cosmetic reasons anyway. Thanks in advance.

Re: Honda 2005 LX Spoiler Question

You can get an oem replica spoiler off ebay for $100-150 that is color matched and includes the 3rd break light.
For the install, you will need a drill to drill holes in your trunk lid, and you need to cut your third break light wire and wire it to the light on the spoiler.
Make sure you really want one .. i kinda regret putting mine on, cuz now if i wanna take it off i have 4 big 1/8th inch holes in my trunk lid..

I wouldn't regret putting an OEM spoiler on. I would regret putting an airplane wing on the back that I had to drill 17 holes in my trunk lid for though.

Are those ebay spoilers any good???

Re: Honda 2005 LX Spoiler Question

Don't do it you will definitely regret it later, it serves no function on a FWD car. The only Civics that can pull of the spoiler look are the Si variants.

But its up to you completely, if you like how it looks go for it.

Re: Honda 2005 LX Spoiler Question

if i was to get a spoiler, stock would be the only one i would get, that or a low profile trunk lip, but i personally like the trunks slick, it makes it look alot cleaner to me but don't let our opinions change your mind, its your car, you should be able to do what you want to it

Re: Honda 2005 LX Spoiler Question

The stock spoiler looks great on an '05. But then again, what looks great depends more on your taste than what everyone else thinks. Some prefer no spoiler, and others what the space shuttle wings.

Got one off of eBay for a friend's Civic. After we got done with it, looked EXACTLY like mine. Only difference was that "Civic" was printed underneath (not like anyone really notices that anyways).
