3M Hood Vinyl

I finally had my bumper and skirts painted/installed. I also had them paint the grill satin black to match the 3M hood vinyl decal that I had put on. I'm very satisfied with the results. You can't really see it, but he continued the decal around the grill...it's about 0.25" thick. The pictures don't really do it any justice, but it looks amazing in person. Check it out:

The only problem with that is that it only comes in a sheet not much wider than what I have there. He said it was within an inch of the sheet width. Anyway, it's a very high quality material and that it should last for a while according the the guy who put it on. I believe it's the same material they make racing stripes from and other decals you can see on muscle cars from the 1970s.

Re: 3M Hood Vinyl

Yeah, I inquired about that. Supposedly it's pretty durable, though. I guess it would have been the same story if I had it painted. Only this was a fraction of the price and looks just as good. He also put a clear film on my headlights to avoid further stone chips, etc. Anyway, I will be sure to keep a distance from traffic in front of me on the highway whenever possible.

Someone did that on a bimmer. Changed the car's color from white to black (or black to white?) but I want to say it cost something like $10k.

They're 16x7 with a +40 offset I believe. The tires are 205/50/16.

These wheels won't be on long though, got my new wheels last week...17x7.5

Did you get your wheels put on yet? Pics?

naw not yet, still waiting on shocks and tires, i put it on hold for a bit cause i had my parents come out and visit me here in vegas so i was saving a bit for that. i need to check my account and if it's where i want it to be then i might try and order the shocks today, then tires in two weeks

Re: 3M Hood Vinyl

Hahaha, man...sounds like you bit off more than you can chew. It seems as if you really have a lot of parts waiting to go on. I had that problem a while ago, too. Now I'm just waiting for my tires to come in and I'll change my wheels...then, that's it. I'm not spending any more money of this POS this year. Next in line will be an engine swap next summer (if I keep the car).
