Remann vs Rebuild '02 Tranny?

My 2002 Civix EX AT will need a new transmission eventually (getting the engine flaring before shifts occasionally).

There's a transmission repair shop near me and I'm inclined to trust them since they have a pretty rock solid reputation locally. They favor a rebuild with upgraded soft parts, replacing worn hard parts as necessary. 2 year/24k warranty of serviced parts.

I haven't see a discussion of rebuild vs reman for 7th gen.
I wonder if someone could guide me through the pros and cons?

Also, for remans, who are the current leaders in the market?
Anyone know of a good CIVIC-specialized shop in the Twin Cities, MN?
How many "book hours" is an (average) rebuild?

Thank you,
david

bring it back to them for warranty work and here is what you will hear....

"nope, we never touched that part"

go for a remann with a warranty that covers the ENTIRE transmission

Check out the warranty your local rebuild will give you, and see just where that warranty would be honored. Will you be on the road when it craps out? In another state? Who will cover that million dollar tow bill?

Is the trans shop an ATRA member? Will their warranty be nationwide, good at any member shop in the country?

A factory reman installed by a dealer should have 3/36 warranty good at any dealership nationwide

See what a national rebuilder such as Jasper will do (personally not a big fan)

Also, look into H&A trans/Gearspeed has to offer http://www.hnatrans.com/general-public.html
