So I bought a 01 civic lx 4dr Automatic last year. I didn't buy it my parents bought it as a birthday gift. It's a great car has only 83,xxx miles on it and was kept clean. When they brought it home I noticed there was no center console storage bin. The ones that act as a storage/arm rest. My friend who has a 03 civic ex (Es2) manual trans, has a center console with the storage/arm rest bin. I saw a few cars in the junkyard that have the bin but they were 04-05 civics. I was confused at one point cause I was clueless cause I've read online that the center consoles from the 04-05 we're never a direct bolt ins into the 01-03 year regardless of the model (lx,dx,ex,hx etc). But my friend got his him with no cutting shaving or anything. Can someone help me cause I really don't want to spend 50$ aimlessly and not have the center console fight. I'm buying the whole console for you wondering from the front of the center console to where it stops in the rear

you can put an 03-05 center console in an 01-02, but it will require some work. You will need to go to the junk yard and get the emergency brake bracket assembly along with the emergency brake handle. If you live in the rust belt (or pretty much anywhere it significantly every year) the 2 bolts for the E-Brake assembly will break on you ( this is the hard part). Me and my dad used a torch to heat up the bolts while we loosened them and they came out with no problems.

Sorry for a very late response but anyways my car relatively not rusted and i have pulled the e brake off for wiring stuff and the bolts were clean I had them sand blasted and put never seize on them. But thank you very much I'll be def be looking into this for sure as a spring project
