I was driving (moderately hard) yesterday and after a while my car started acting strange in the high rev area...if was acting as if too much gas was coming through and lost most of its power, this was around the 4k RPM range so I was thinking it could be the cam acting up for some reason? The car still drives fine, the engine light was on during this but when I got to the parts store they were already closed so I intended to get a code reader on it this morning but the check engine light was off so nothing to check. I drove it to and from work, around 40 miles with no issues but never pushed it at all. I will probably have time this weekend to bring it to the dealership and try to figure something out but I thought maybe someone on here would have an idea? THANKS

I have a stage 1 crower cam installed but have never really felt the power gain I should so that could be an issue too

check oil levels. if low, fill it in.
prolly lost oil pressure that controls VTEC
