01 HX o2 question
01 HX o2 question
I have a 2001 HX w/ the d17a6 and a 5sp, and i was going to replace my upper o2, which is on the exhaust manifold right above the cat, and i got part #15710, a bosch oxygen sensor. All parts stores around me said that was the one for my car. it's not. i plugged it in, ran the motor, and it started throwing the code p1167 at me, which is heater circuit malfunction. I call honda, and find out that the o2 i actually need is $298.
Is there any replacement that will work with my motor, that isn't $298? it's weird how an LX o2 is $50-$60, and an HX o2, that works, is $298. anyone got any advise for me?

Re: 01 HX o2 question
youre stuck with oem unfortunately since it uses a wideband sensor. the other models 01-03 are cheap cause they use narrowband. 04-05 civic switched to wideband. and i think every hx uses wideband because the sensors have alot more work to do keeping the lean burn engine happy.
