2008 Honda Civic p2646 code

Hey Guys, my son drove my civic about 80 miles without the oil filler cap on. Now I am getting a code p2646. I did a full oil change with new filter and replaced the oil filler cap. Could that have been the cause of the code? Is there something else I should check for? Last oil change was about 4k miles before this one. Car has 147k miles. It is a Civic EX, if that helps as well.

Any input greatly appreciated.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 2008 Honda Civic p2646 code

If it lost a lot of oil, that COULD cause the code.
Correct oil level now?
Erase codes. See if it resets the same code.

Yes oil levels are correct now. How do you reset or erase the codes? Thanks

The same code reader should also erase codes

Disconnecting the battery will also erase powertrain codes, but you will need the radio unlock code if you do it this way
