Rep Power: 0 Fair price for 2008 Honda Civic EX-L
Hello, new here, first post actually...hello to all staff and members, well met,,,I am thinking of purchasing this 2008 Honda Civic EX-L, i have looked up some of the value numbers from different internet sources but would like to get opinions from other Civic owners...the car does NOT have navigation system but has most of the other options that came with that model. The car was listed at a dealer for $6,995 so I am taking a real beating on taxes and documentation fees which was pushing the car close to 8k,,,,so I told them I would bring them 7k,, but they refused the offer and said the best they would do is 7,900,,,so I thanked the salesman and got up to leave at which point he asked could I meet him in the middle at 7,400....thats for everthing tax, title,fees.....the actual price of the car is listed as 6,509 now...should I walk away from this deal and go with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS with 93,000 miles for 6k that has a carfax with severe damage? those are my choices at this point. Opinions greatly welcomed. Thanks

Not sure why that Civic or a car that’s been severely damaged are your only choices. I’d check out CARFAX, Truecar, Cargurus and Craigslist in your area. That way you can kind of gauge prices, mileage, year of car, options ect...

Not that we got a great deal on my daughter's car, but this past July we paid 10,300 including all taxes and new plates from a dealer in NH. Her car is an 2011 Civic EX, at the time of purchase it had 62,459 miles on it. The car is in good condition and has a clean car fax, but we have also put another $500 in tires and misc. diy repairs. Hope this helps.
