Battery is completely dead

Last week, my car suddenly did not start. I assumed it was the battery, but it surprised me because I bought the battery only about 4 months ago. After jumping it, it started up and I was able to get it home. The next day, after I was able to charge it all night, the battery wouldn't start again. It was completely dead and no lights would turn on and it wouldn't even click when I tried starting it. I took it to AutoZone and luckily my warranty was still good and I got a brand new battery. I then drove my car for 2 days and then it sat for a weekend in my garage while I was out of town. When I went to start it this morning, again there were no lights and no clicking when I would turn the key. This battery was not even a week old. Has anyone had this happen and could tell me what it could be?

I read that it could be an a/c switch that constantly stays in the "on" position even when the car is off which drains the battery completely. I assume it is something electrical that drains the battery while the car is not running. Please help!

Re: Battery is completely dead

google "how to perform a parasitic drain test"

that will allow you to figure out what is draining the battery

Re: Battery is completely dead

Did you check the alternator? That might be a possibility.
