2013 Honda Civic Sedan Maintenance?

Hi,

I have a 2013 Honda Civic Sedan with 71,000 miles. I bought it new and have had it just over 5 years. How often should I change the brake fluid, transmission fluid, and service the cooling system in my car? I drive the car mostly on the freeway 60 miles to work and back Monday thru Friday. I live in the Bay Area, California. I baby the car, don't gun the engine and take it easy on the brakes as much as possible. Honda service told me:

Brake fluid exchange every 3 years (never done this)
Cooling system service every 5 years/60K miles (never don't this)
Transmission fluid change due at 60K miles (never done this)

What do you think? Absolutely necessary to stick to maintenance schedule? Or not? Advice?

Thanks.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Honda service told me:
You should read your owners manual instead. Then ask here.

You haven't followed it yet, why bother to start now? LOL
Brake fluid exchange every 3 years (never done this)
As per your owners manual
Cooling system service every 5 years/60K miles (never don't this)
First service is probably 10 years or 100-120,000 (ish) miles, whenever #5 comes up on the maintenance minder. IF you ever look for the minder items.
Each subsequent service is half of that, 5/60(ish)
Again, see your owners manual
Transmission fluid change due at 60K miles (never done this)
No. I strongly recommend fluid services EVERY 30k, or even more frequently. Do it now. Do it again real soon. Use ONLY HONDA DW-1 trans fluid from the dealership (for normal auto trans, not CVT). Simple drain and fill.

They have shudder problems if you neglect service. If you neglect it long enough, fluid service alone may not be enough.

Engine and cabin filters?
Alignment?
Tune up around 100k, minder item #4
Valve adjust?

Do your maintenance as Ezone said if you like having a working car.
Maintenance items are there for a reason, they're not there just for fun
