So, I have my first maintenance due on my 2015 Honda Civic (just reached 50k on it), and I have a few questions. According to the manual, Code B123 means the following:

Pepboys are not going to have the correct CVT fluid you will need.

Take it to the Honda dealer.

Filter set
Trans fluid service

Plus the basic routine inspections.

As suggested, just take it to your local Honda dealership, for at least the trans service (assuming CVT trans). Nobody else will have the correct CVT trans fluid on hand unless they deal with these on a daily basis.

A local Honda dealer quoted me $350 for those outlined above. Does this sound reasonable?

How much can you DIY?
Can you change oil? Juggle tires?

Anyone should be able to DIY the two filters.

I have never changed my oil before or do any work other than installing new head unit, manual to power window conversion (including wiring), installing backup camera (wiring included), etc... but I watched the videos for changing the oil, filters, and trans fluid, and I am pretty sure I could do those if I put the time in. I know I could rotate the tires.

There are a few more things on the list I think I could do if I put myself to it. I am not sure that I have the time though, and I am missing a few tools (which I could easily get).

I do have extended warranty on this car, and it will absorb some of that 350 cost, but I wanted to know if the estimate is justified.

btw, yes it is a CVT transmission. I forgot to answer that.

No, it won't. That's only for repairs, not maintenance, unless you got some service deal.

350 would be high at my local dealer, but might be normal in a big city market

I got the local dealer for details of the cost, and here it is:

Code B - Oil Change - $50
Code 1 - Tire Rotation -> 21.95
Code 2

• Engine Air Filter --> $45
• Cabin Air Filter --> $65

Code 3 - Transmission drain --> $135

I am not spending 120 bucks to replace those filters. I'll let them do the tire rotation, oil change, and trans.

As for the air filters, is there anything specific I need to know? Do I need to get them from the dealership? What's your recommendation on what I should get?

I bought a set of 3rd party filters for the 2010 local for about $40. Then a bit later, a set for the 2013 OEM online, and was virtually the same price shipped to my door for Honda parts.

Engine air states OEM..... but, talk is cheap.

3 cabins for $20 is a very low cost.

Roll the dice, and find out.

I ended up paying 250 for this, excluding the air filters. They recommended that I replaced the break fluid for 115, but I declined.

Brake fluid service every 3 years. (it's in your owners manual)
IMO it's a pretty easy DIY

They said it could wait till the next oil change. I thought it would be easy to DYI it,, and that's why I didn't get it done.
