Rep Power: 78 2015 civic parts wanted to butcher/play with
does anyone know a source for a reasonably priced 2015 civic si cylinder head or intake? i would like to try my hand at porting them.
i port mustang junk all the time and when i was younger i ported a d16/zc head a ridiculous amount. i studied up at endyne and then proceeded to make the ZC's intake ports 1/8" larger on the sides and roof, leaving the port floor alone per endynes advice. that was a bit much, the car was a turd and made a bogging sound until 4000 rpm, then the tires would break free and it screamed up to the rev limiter at 7,800. i would like to build a "play motor" for my girlfriends civic, and possibly slap an extra powerdyne bd11-a supercharger on it that i have lying around on it.
i know it sounds stupid, but i'm not toooo nuts. after porting the intake i'll send it to tom moss for flow testing and inspection, and i'll send the head to thumper for him to perfect.
just as something interesting to check out, here's my last porting project. i gave up 1/2 way through it because the chinese knockoff edelbrock intake casting was just waaaaaay too crappy for me to try to fix. have a look! --> http://sbftech.com/index.php/topic,37390.0.html
