Exclamation Switching Honda key fob to flip key fob

I’ve watched several videos on YouTube about switching Honda keys to a flip key fob. All of them so far have said to remove transponder chip from plastic piece. Well the plastic piece has no chip at all!!! Am I missing something? Please help! Do I need to program it if there is no chip????

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Switching Honda key fob to flip key fob

06 and newer? Yours is inside the transmitter.....BUT if you peel it off the circuit board, it might not work. (I've not attempted this)

One issue with the flip key conversion is getting the chip placed in the key close enough to the receiver in the steering column to get it to work reliably.

Re: Switching Honda key fob to flip key fob

Read on another forum about a dude that did a flip key conversion in his 10thgen. All he did was transplant the innards from old standard key to new flip key (which he had cut) and it worked. I'll see if I can find that thread again because I considered it a bit ago.

Only reason I didn't pull the trigger is because I want to find one with all 4 buttons (lock, unlock, trunk, panic), though I never use the panic button.
