Molding drip side

2009 Honda Civic Hybrid

The plastic molding that runs along the drivers side windshield blew out while I was on the highway. This appears to be the part to fix it.

It does not appear to be sealing the windshield. If I don't replace it, will I run into issues?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Molding drip side

The windshield is sealed to the body with urethane.
The trim strips have nothing to do with sealing the glass.

Are the trim strips only aesthetic?

For the most part IMO. Maybe some wind noise control or something.
