Question 2010 Honda Civic Sedan - Not a nice exterior color for a teen?

Hey everyone, so Ive been a lurker for a while and i decided to sign up because I need opinions from you guys. Im 18 and I have $8000 saved up and I'm about to purchase my first car which will be an 8th gen Honda Civic Sedan. I saved up this money by working throughout the summer at various jobs so I could buy my first car because my siblings only let me borrow their car when they dont have to go anywhere that day which is never :P. Anyways, my uncle who's really experienced with selling and buying cars (he use to be a mechanic when he was younger too) said he'd help me find a nice one and purchase it. My parents told me to get a sedan as my first car due to insurance costs and because my siblings already have coupes so we need a car thats a 4 door and isn't an SUV. So i agreed even though i love the look of the coupe much more. My uncle said that we will look at two cars today, a 2010 and a 2009. The 2009 is silver and a DX-G but I dont really like the silver as much on the sedan.. The 2010 is an LX but the color is like the metallic galaxy greyish one. My sister has the same color in her 2008 LX coupe. I showed my girlfriend the cars pictures and she liked it but my best friend said that the color isn't something a teen would have especially on the sedan version and that it won't look good with the exterior stuff i want to do to the car (black out the lights, plasti dip the emblem, and etc). I didn't see anything wrong with the color before he said that and now im just a little concerned that it won't look good with those things i want to do. Let me know what you guys think, and I am fairly new to all this and dont want to waste $8000 as this is my first car so please dont bash me about anything i said. Thank you!

I also added the pictures of both the cars so you guys can see the colors and overall let me know what you think of them. Thanks

Assuming mileage is similar, I'd want the newer one.
LX > DX

The 2010 has 100,800 kms (62137 miles) and the 2009 one has 130,000 kms (80778 miles) so all in all the 2010 is better in each category. Thanks for your input

The wheels/covers on the silver look like the ones seen on hybrids.

09 & 10 are identical.

Canada got those wheels on all sorts of cars. I swear I once saw a Fit with that style wheel, in person, at my dealership.

Yeah there not the nicest looking wheel covers on a 09 - or 2010 Civic.

I'm surprised my wheel covers on my 08 DX are different." there from Honda Just Look different .
