Honda Canada is Recalling the (Air Bag Inflator) Yes i received my Notice

2 weeks ago in the mail, from Honda Canada my Local Honda told me

they would have to order in the part. and would call or email me ASAP once it

was in. and schedule a time for me to come in to have it replaced Free of Course.

until then keeping fingers and toes crossed so it don't go off. lol

Updating my Post on this "Honda Air bag Inflator Recall that I'm running into"

since i didn't hear back from my Local honda which i left my email & home #

i called my Local Honda & was told by the Service Lady on the other end of the

phone that they are still waiting for the recall part to Come in, for my 2008 DX Civic... Seriosly...?

this is turning into One Long Waite not to mention the fact that as each day goes by i run the risk

of the Air bag going Off...!

guessing your air Bag inflator is being shipped on boat from japan?

Call a different dealership (maybe the parts department) and inquire about availability? We have no problem obtaining those inflators in the US.

hey there Ezone. i have thought of doing that ezone, whats held me back
is there location being approximately 3 km"s away from where i live and the fact that i
no someone that works there. is What"s holding me back, from going to another farther
away Honda dealer ship to get this Recall done & over with. i Never thought it was this Loong
of a waite for an Air Bag Inflator if it rolls out any Longer i will have too resort going to a farther
away Honda dealer ship to get this mater taken care off.

Yeah ...? Just remember when You need a part{s} shipped From Japan on Your 91 Civic
maybe it too one day could take a Long time to come or worse be Lost at Sea...

I suggested you call, not drive. It's more efficient LOL.
Call and inquire about their inflator availabilty for your model, just to make sure your local dealer isn't dropping the ball or blowing you off.


Maybe call Honda of Canada customer service and inquire?

Have you checked your VIN lately just to make sure it still is on the list as needing done?

Ya the recall is on multiple manufacturers/years/models.

The 01-05 recall is probably near complete so they recalled the next generation. I wouldnt be surprised if they recall the generation after yours as well.

I think they are up to about 30 vehicle manufacturers worldwide, and over 80 million units affected.

"Complete" may not be 100% possible.....

They (Honda) have some pretty darn recent cars included in the recalls now (2016 Acuras, 2015 Hondas).

Every time they decide to add more cars to the list, they have wait until more replacement parts are available before they send out notifications, and that takes some time.
They have done a decent job of prioritizing affected cars IMO, but getting 100% of the vehicle owners to get their cars fixed is the toughest part.

They are trying hard. I've heard they have teams dedicated to finding cars in yards and alleys and doing the recalls......They are even sending crews to junkyards to replace inflators.

One of our guys just got tasked with traveling to a nearby burg to do an inflator recall to a car that's sitting in someones driveway with a blown up engine.

I bought my Canadian 08 Civic EX about a month ago and the first thing I checked was to see if there were any open recalls... and whatdoyaknow - passenger air bag inflator lol. Scheduled an appointment and got it taken care of the day after.

Funny though, with my Accord (which is American) the same recall was open (taken care of a while ago though); I called to set up an appointment and they said that the part wasn't there... my dad called back the dealership, and not even 10 minutes later, the dealership calls me back and asks when I wanted to come in to have the part replaced. LOL
