My 2006 Honda Civic EX has a new battery and a new MICU (sp). The weather started getting a bit colder 40's 50's and now I'm having difficulty starting the car for the first start of the day and if it has been sitting for a number of hours. I'm not sure if the temperature has anything to do with the issue or if it is a coincidence. A couple of weeks ago I turned the key about 5 times (no clicking noise or engine turnover) before it would start up. Now I turn the key about 10 to 15 times again, no clicking noise or engine turnover before it turns on. Once the car is on, I can drive it around town, park it and it immediately starts as if there is no problem. If it sits for a number of hours, for instance, when I'm at work for 8 hours, I have to turn the key multiple times for it to start. A worker at an auto parts store suggested that I replace the ignition switch but that did not fix the problem. Any suggestions?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

When the starter does nothing....If the dash lights all shut off like the battery suddenly went dead, that could be poor cable connections.
Otherwise, I'd do a little testing to make sure the starter is receiving correct electric signals when the key is twisted........because I really want to be sure it needs a starter before just throwing money at a car.

When I turn the key, the dash lights are on and bright. When the starter on one of my previous vehicles went bad, I heard a clicking sound. I don't hear the clicking sound on my Honda Civic. Any idea why?

A starter can fail in any of several different ways.
This one doesn't have to exhibit the exact same symptom as the last one.
A few tests (test while it does not work) should be able to confirm if the problem lies in the car, or in the starter.
